How to Choose the Right Quartz Monitor Crystals
Base Frequency: 6 MHz is the industry mainstream standard; 5 MHz is used for specific legacy equipment. Ensure the frequency matches your monitor, otherwise the system will not oscillate.
Size & Shape: Standard 0.550 inch / 14mm diameter with plano-convex design optimizes energy distribution, enhancing measurement sensitivity and crystal lifetime.
Gold Electrode: Chemically extremely stable, the preferred coating for low-stress materials and general metal deposition, with an exceptionally long shelf life.
Silver Electrode: Offers superior thermal conductivity, making it ideal for high-thermal-load processes such as e-beam evaporation, effectively suppressing measurement drift caused by temperature rise.
Alloy Electrode: Designed for high-stress processes, effectively buffering mechanical impact of optical materials on the substrate, preventing frequency jumps and extending process continuity.
Application Selection Guide: Alloy electrodes are preferred for optical multilayer stacks; gold electrodes are recommended for OLED evaporation; silver electrodes are advised for semiconductor thick-metal processes to optimize heat dissipation.
